Born and raised in Nevada City, Kendra has always been a creative soul. She adores the lakes, rivers, and mountains that make this area so special. But despite her love for her hometown, she found herself feeling unfulfilled in her role as a medical office manager.

Then, the pandemic happened. Like so many others, Kendra faced uncertainty and a lack of work, but she saw an opportunity to pursue her passion. “I’ve always been a creative,” Kendra explains. When she started playing around with her boyfriend’s DSLR camera, everything changed.

Realizing that photography was more than just a hobby, Kendra decided to turn her newfound passion into a career. Five years later, she’s a sought-after maternity photographers in the area, known for her artistic vision, creativity, and the ability to make every client feel comfortable and beautiful.

“I am immensely happy every time I do a portrait session, I just can’t get enough!”

While Kendra does all types of portrait photography, her heart belongs to maternity sessions. “Nothing better!” she says. She loves watching pregnant women transform into mothers and being there to capture each milestone—from maternity photos to newborn sessions, and eventually, first birthday photos.

Kendra’s maternity sessions are known for their elegance and creativity, particularly her iconic Chiffon Sessions. During these sessions, Kendra constructs a gown on her client using yards of chiffon fabric, creating flowing, ethereal images that really capture the beauty of pregnancy.

Every maternity session includes at least 20 minutes of chiffon photography, ensuring each client gets the chance to feel like a goddess. With the help of an assistant, usually the friend or family member her client bring along, who tosses the chiffon, Kendra captures a series of images and later composites 3-7 shots to create something truly magical.

“It’s just so beautiful!”

While maternity is her specialty, Kendra also has a hugely popular Senior Portrait Program, with bookings happening mostly in October and November. With numerous outdoor locations to choose from, your high school senior can pick the one that best suits their style. Whether it’s maternity, senior portraits, or other life milestones, Kendra brings her creative vision to every session.

As a Nevada City native, Kendra is passionate about supporting her community. Her favorite local store? Solstice. “I don’t think I have bought new jeans in 10 years! I adore the place!” Kendra’s commitment to local businesses and her love for the area shine through in her work.
