Let’s be honest: the Nevada County Fair 2025 is still the same slightly-chaotic, sugar-drenched, loud-and-proud small-town event we’ve come to love (and laugh about)—and that’s exactly why it works. Despite the high ticket prices and rides that creak a little too dramatically for comfort, this year’s fair is once again proving that community, charm, and corn dogs still rule the day.

From the moment you step onto the dusty fairgrounds, you’re hit with the smell of kettle corn, the sound of live music, and the feeling that this is exactly where you’re supposed to be.

Classic Chaos & County Spirit

Yes, ride wristbands are still steep enough to make you think twice. And yes, the Gravitron (now named “Invasion”) still looks like it’s one rusty bolt away from launching into orbit. But none of that ever seems to matter. Because everywhere you turn, there are families smiling, teens meeting up in packs like it was the social event of the year (because let’s be honest, it is), and local talent showing off everything from prize pigs to hand-sewn quilts.

Treat Street is always hopping as usual, packed with nonprofits slinging everything from tacos to deep-fried Oreos—all for a good cause. The livestock barns are alive with 4H kids beaming with pride, and the grandstands certainly know how to bring the noise.

It’s the kind of event where you run into at least five people you haven’t seen in months (or years), and everyone has the same proud glint in their eye—this is our fair, and we show up for it.
