But what if I told you there’s a place in town offering free crafts, storytimes, movie nights, Dungeons & Dragons, AND prizes for reading—without you having to play the entertainment committee every single day?
Enter: The Nevada County Library’s Summer Learning Program—also known in our house as the MVP of summer survival.
Color Our World: Summer Learning Challenge
Running from June 14 to August 8, this year’s program is all about creativity, exploration, and yes—prizes! Kids and teens ages 0–18 can participate by tracking their reading and completing fun activities.

Ukulele Classes
Music lovers (ages 16+) can learn the uke for free at Madelyn Helling.
