From Berkeley Roots to Nevada City Blossoms
Jenn’s journey began as a hippy kid growing up in Berkeley during the late ’60s and ’70s — an upbringing surrounded by artisans, educators, and the constant pulse of creativity. But when her early career in hairdressing collided with severe chemical sensitivity (dismissed at the time by doctors as “psychosomatic”), Jenn took matters into her own hands.
Her healing journey led her deep into natural practices, clean living, and a reconnection with the ancient art of henna. In 1991, she co-founded the first non-toxic salon in the country, paving the way for a revolution in clean beauty before “green beauty” was even a buzzword.
