There’s no one who loves Christmas more than my husband. The day after Thanksgiving, the lights start going up outside, yuletide cheer begins pours out of him and Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes officially become one the food groups. He’ll have Christmas music playing wherever he goes and don’t get me started on the decorating that occurs. His family has a collection of around 250 Christmas teddy bears, 60 Santa figurines and 5 sets of porcelain village scenes that are displayed throughout the house. When fully decorated with all the displays, garlands and lights, the house belongs on the cover of Good Housekeeping.
Now, one would think that I would have to be equally wrapped up in the holiday spirit but I’m not. Where my husband’s cheer rivals that of Santa, mine is comparable to that of the Grinch. I used to have that same unwavering holiday happiness as my husband and his family but 2019 put an end to that. Since then I’ve been trying to get it back into the holly jolly spirit if only for the sake of my husband.
This year, I’ve been focusing on the gift giving aspect of the holiday season. There’s nothing quite like watching a person’s face light up when they open your gift Christmas morning. I’ve been creating gift idea boards for everyone on my list and they’ve been a huge help in keeping my stress level low. They’ve been so helpful in keeping me sane this holiday season that, dare I say, I’m feeling little more merry than in years past.
Here’s the gift board I created for my oldest daughter, age 5.

When I make any idea board, I use specific products so I can easily order them when ready. This cuts down on the amount of time spent scrolling through pages of products on Amazon.
