What to Expect at the 2025 Nevada County Fair: Dates, Rides, Concerts & More

There’s a buzz in the air this summer—and it’s not just from the Ferris Wheel. The Nevada County Fair returns to the fairgrounds in Grass Valley from August 6 to August 10, 2025, promising five days of carnival rides, live entertainment, food, animals, vendors, and community exhibits. With over 90,000 attendees expected, it’s the one local summer highlight that pulls everyone off the couch—and into the fairgrounds for fun (and funnel cake).

Rides & Midway Excitement

Get ready for Butler Amusements’ 30-ride lineup, including the classic Ferris Wheel, Carousel, “The Zipper,” and “Alien Invasion.” Whether you crave thrills or seek gentle spins for littles, there’s something for every level of adventure

Food, Shopping & Treat Street

Treat Street features nonprofit food booths, so your corn dog or churro munch helps support local causes. In total, nearly 40 food vendors serve everything from tacos and baked potatoes to ice cream and fudge. There’s also a vendor market for crafts, goodies, and local goods.

Livestock + Still Exhibits

Local youth showcase their hard work in 250+ livestock exhibits and 6,000+ still exhibits—think quilts, flowers, preserved foods, photography, baking, woodworking, and more. It’s a glimpse into our community’s proud creative and agricultural spirit.

Live Music & Community Stages

Admission includes 50+ live performances across three stages—from community acts to regional tribute bands and family-friendly entertainers. Expect strolling performers and magic acts adding surprise flair throughout the day.

Concerts, Motoring & Rodeo Nights

Thursday evening concert features country stars William Michael Morgan, Canaan Smith, and viral sensation The Kruse Brothers—a standout night you won’t forget.

Rodeo hits the arena midweek, and late in the weekend, monster trucks and Rough Truck Challenge bring big engines and louder thrills. Arena event upgrades are optional (and worth it if you’re chasing a good truck-crushing show).

The fair is classic summer magic—big enough to entertain the kids but small-town enough to feel warm and welcoming. It’s a community hub for local culture, art, agriculture, music, and food. Most of the fun is included in one affordable admission ticket. And if you upgrade for arena events, you’ll still feel that hometown energy every step of the way.
